Clark Manor has a long history of caring. As far back as 1899, Mary Clark Thompson, who resided at Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua during the summer, formed The Clark Manor House as a charitable organization in memory of her parents.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver quality services, housing and programs that promote quality of life and dignity among senior adults at a reasonable cost.

Our Difference

The Clark Manor House offers carefree living and quality care in a welcoming home-like environment, not corridor living. We have 17 private rooms with updated bathrooms (one is a two-bedroom suite). In addition, we have 24-hour personal care assistance in a safe and secure setting, dedicated staff, case management, medication supervision by licensed nurses, and three home-cooked nutritious meals daily by one of the best chefs in the area.

Visitor Policy Effective 10/27/2020

We are excited to now be able to offer in-person visits at The Clark Manor House! Please review the following procedures that enable compliance with New York State requirements for Assisted Living Facilities. We look forward to welcoming family and friends. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates or contact us with questions at ClarkManor@frontiernet.net. Thank you!

We live in a beautiful place.

Residents enjoy easy access to our lovely gardens, a walking trail to a gazebo nestled among the trees of the spacious, beautifully landscaped, five-acre yard.

In 2018, we finished building an outdoor pavilion where residents are able to enjoy summer meals, complete with a gas grill, fire-pit, and ample seating. Families are welcome to visit and enjoy the beauty of the property.

We also go on outings in the Canandaigua area and beyond.
Our family atmosphere makes life better.

Clark Manor recently converted a large portion of our screened-in porch to make it accessible year round. Residents enjoy gathering in this part of the house with family, staff, and to participate in various activities.

Individual rooms can be personalized with your own furnishings or, you can move into a room already tastefully furnished.
Our residents rave about the food.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the dining room at our large table. Everyone looks forward to our chef’s home-cooked meals. Ed, our executive chef, has been with Clark Manor for over 15 years and the residents love his cooking. Nutritious snacks are also provided daily.

Residents in this picture are enjoying snacks outside in the gazebo. We also have a new pavilion and grill for meals outside in the warmer months.
Something for everyone.

At The Clark Manor House, weekly, monthly and yearly activities are planned for our residents, their families, and our staff. We have a number of musicians who play at the house regularly, volunteers who read us books, we decorate cookies, attend concerts and plan shopping trips. Puzzles and card games are also enjoyed, and we all try to get a little exercise too. We also have a hairdresser who comes in weekly to trim and style hair while our activities director paints the ladies' nails. New ideas are always welcome!
